I just downloaded a nero burning rom, and it stays a .dat called download10783500276152556.dat
I restarted k-lite and nothing ahppens, how do i change this to what its supposed to be. I download movies and games all the time, but why isnt this changing??

Either rename the .dat (both name and extension) or use K-Dat to extract data from a .dat file (right-click->extract data)(it has to be a completed download for it to work)

It's not that uncommon that a .dat file doesn't change into what it's supposed to be after the download is finished.And usually renaming the file works.
But yeh,you never know...
rename it to .exe and see
