why should he do that. there does not seem to be a problem with their service (he can still connect with that other PC.) It just a mis-config somewere.

Try copying the pc TCP/IP of the "good" pc to the bad "pc"and switch their lan connection.

Problem solved !
Norton Internet Security clogged the Internethole , without being activated. Uninstalled , now that line is purring like a kitten. Huzaa !
