Hi just dl a movies that is a DVD rip and is 4.3GB. Went to extract the rar files by clicking on the first one as you should . Then when it gets to 91% a WinRAR Diagnostic Message box comes up saying "there is not enough space on the disc. Write error, only NTFS file system supports files larger than 4GB"
Help, not come across this before.

What Windows do you have? 98? XP?

Do you know if your hard drive is formatted with an NTFS or Fat32 file system?

It is likely in Fat32, which means you can't have files bigger than 4GB stored in it (it's not supported).

And if you want to convert your file system to NTFS simply open the command prompt and type: convert C: /fs:ntfs

*Notice that C is your drive letter

Split the RAR file into two 2.15GB files or something.

Lol haxor. He has many files (I assume about 5megs each or more), and when he extracts it, it comes out as a .vob (DVD)file?

Thanks guys. Yes I'm running XP Pro and my file system is FAT 32. I've been reading up on the windows help and it says that NTFS is the best apparently and you can convert to this easily, except if you have some old progs, they might not work. So I was wondering if I could create a new partition and convert that to NTFS and extract to that, say 10 GB as I have 28 spare at the mo. How easy is it it to create a new partition or do I need a 3rd party prog to do this?

How to Use Convert.exe to Convert a Partition to the NTFS File System.

Or you will need Partition Magic its on Supanova.
I don't use Xp so I hope this helps.
