An idiot "friend" of my is running around boasting that he "overclocked" his graphics card from 64 -> 128 MB RAM.
My thoughts exactly - this guy had previously "reformatted" his PC by manually erasing all files. Fom "My Documents".
Turns out , he has a shared graphics card , which allows the memory allocated to graphics to be user-set. All he did was press F10 for BIOS , then steal 64 MB from his regular memory to be used by the card.
Net result : a slow computer and a lowest-end budget card with 128 MB RAM. Trouble is , he's running around claiming he is the new Tech Guru of the Age . I may not know much about computers (Oooh... buttons...) but I thought overclocking was slightly more complex - he won't believe me.
Please , tell me I'm right and he's an idiot. Please...
