Both ABC and Azureus have remote admin functions using a web interface. ABC has it included, Azureus's is still experimental.
With that you can not only look how the torrents are doing, but even start/stop/pause them.

ABC has a built in webserver
this means you start it at home set a password, then if you dont want to set up a server with php yourself you can go to this homepage and choose the right version.

On the next page you enter your ip address and password and then you can see your downloads. You can also pause them or add new torrents, just make sure that oyu set a default download directory in abc if you want to add torrents with the webserver.

Edit: too slow

or just install vnc, netop or smth like that. vnc is free but only has encryption for the password. with those prgs you can administer your comp as if you were sitting at it.
