    Take the cpu out of the board, look on the back, at the pins and see if you can see any scorch marks (i.e. black pins). Also check the socket on the motherboard.
    On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
    And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
    As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.
    With your mind power, your determination, your instinct and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

    No signal input on the monitor would suggest lack of a graphics card rather than CPU. What other components are in the system you're trying to test?
    On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.

    the monitor still says no signal input
    doesn't that have something to do with graphic cards?

    Ya it does...hes been talking to me on aim...

    He has no post, but he gets power to the rig.

    Hes reset the cmos and it still wont boot to nething or go to the BIOS.

    Did you remove the power cord before clearing cmos? Even standby power to the mobo will be enough to keep the bios settings.

    Remove the power cord, press the power switch (to remove any remaining power in the PS) then put the jumper to cmos clear position for at least 10 seconds.
