    I have recently bought a computer. It's an Athlon 2700+, Asus A7N8X, 512MB Corsair XMS3500, GeForce 3 Ti200 (soon to be replaced with a Radeon 9500 Pro), 80GB Seagate 7200rpm.
My problem is in deciding the RAM timings. They're set just now at 2.5-4-4-8, but the manufacturer guarantees they'll work with timings of 2-3-3-7. Which would be better for the system, considering i use it for gaming, and using the internet mainly.
The manufacturer also guarantees the RAM up to 434MHz DDR. Is it worth overclocking it up to this, or should i leave it as standard (400MHz).
Thanks in advance for any advice.
2-3-3-7 would give you a higher memory benchmark score with sandra but you would never notice the differnce in gaming. as far as ocing "dont do it"
its addictive, you will never be satisfied tweeking it till it crashs and burns

The Ram is only as fast as the bus speed. If the bus speed is 333Mhz and the RAM is 400Mhz, then the bus can access the ram (or any other component) at 333Mhz.
