this just started earlier today. when i cut and paste folders from either of my two internal maxtor drives to my c drive or archos jukebox drive the disk space available doesn't decrease. but if anything is added it goes up. sany experience with this sort of problem or tips? i'm about to email maxtor but thought i'd also see what anyone here knew about this.

Maxtor is not at fault. Don't bother emailing them.
There must be some system restore or recycle bin feature that "keeps" the data stored in case you want it back.

thanks this oddly enough seems to have resolved itself. i thought the same on the recycling bin issue but whenever i used disk cleanup on either drives it'd say the recytcling bins were empty for them. thanks again.
