One great show, but it's just as well to end it with dignity. Season 4 were a bit extreme.

You could tell that Ball were running dry on ideas, which incidentally were his stated reason for ending it.
I never got into SFU. I saw the very first episode and it was pretty good. Next thing I know I hear that it's like Queer As Folk but on HBO instead of Showtime. I definitely didn't bother then.

I like my gay cinema to be on the womanly side like The L Word.

Weirdly enough, I actually like it's story too.

There is a lot more to SFU than the gay characters. If you have a somewhat open mind, and can accept the odd gay kiss (but nothing more - thank god), you're missing out.

IMO, part of its purpose is to open peoples mind (be it death, or homosexuality), but for that to happen they first have to watch it

I say you give it a second a try, and keep your eyes closed as soon as the two gay characters come within reach of each other.

My old lady was telling me about an episode where the gay fella got into a big scuffle and was abducted or something. She said it was a very good episode.

Tbh, I've seen pieces of the show here and there but with so many better shows on I just don't have time to watch everything so I just nixed the show from my viewing agenda.

Give me the The L Word any day. That, 24, and the The Shield.

Unless you are a huge fan of sci-fi, I'd say skip the second season of The 4400.

Last year I watched the first 4 episodes and I was so extremely annoyed by the complete randomness of it all that I completely lost interest and deleted the last 2 episodes.

I later found out that the mystery on what happened with the 4400 was that they were taken by humans from the future to prevent a catastrophic event, or some bullcrap like that.

What's worse is that after watching the first episode I thought the show was gonna be awesome. I was totally wrong.

Rescue Me is the can't-miss event of the summer. Denis Leary is the bomb on this show. I've never seen a show that goes from being so extremely serious to so ridiculously hilarious so quickly, and back and forth. This show is a gem.

I haven't heard much about Over There but I will definitely check it out. It's based on the war in Iraq. The name of the show is kinda lame though, but maybe it's a hit. I guess it's kind of a watch 1 episode at a time and see if it "jumps the shark" quickly like The 4400, or if it's good like Rescue Me.

Other than that though, I haven't heard of anything good yet. Tons of bull$#it reality shows like Dancing With The Stars and that Hit Me Baby One More Time crap.

Then it's Nip/Tuck in September (FX rules - Nip/Tuck is the best show on TV, easily).

Lost begins on September 21st I believe, or somewhere around that date. I don't know if Jennifer Garner's pregnancy is going to delay the start of Alias, which is supposed to begin in the fall instead of January like it did this year.

24 is back on for another non-stop season in January, with a renewed 2-year contract on the show. Kiefer Sutherland is coming back, of course...

Rescue Me, Family Guy and The Daily Show should be enough to get me through the summer though. Those are my recommendations...

The second season just started last night.

I thought the show was like the comic book Rising Stars. It looks to be an epic.

I've seen the first three episodes of the 4400 and didn't like it.

It reminds me of Smallville in that a lot of the episodes consist of some random guy with superpowers screwing things up. The formula of the show is so old and recycled.

    @Busyman

You can't compare shows like 24 and the shields to SFU though (not familiar with "The L Word"). Their worlds and pace of speed is completely different (not to mention, no gay kissing )

A friend of mine loves Smallville and is always chirping about it. I can't get with the teenage demographic shows. Maybe one day I'll check it out at length. I have some of the seasons on disc.

    The Inside was damn good.

It reminded me of Millenium, Saw, and Seven but as a TV show.

The debut episode could have easily been a movie (with some writing additions) due to the way it was produced.

It looks like Peter Coyote left one hit show, The 4400, to go to The Inside.

In both he played/plays the boss.
