Ut2004 Problem

A friend of mine downloaded UT2004 (Deviance), and he is having problems. He cracked it and everything, and when he opens it, it shows the splash screen, and then he gets that stupid XP error:

The one that says "Blah blah has made an error and will be closed. You could send a report of this error to MS." Choices: Send, or Don't Send.

Anyone have any ideas?

dl'ed the damn thing on suprnova, burned the shit on dvd with my dvd burner, the game runs like it just came out of the retail box...

Tried re-installing from scratch after a reg clean?

Tut Tut Rip im ashamed, im sure that you should know that the specs of the pc are important, and so are the gfx card drivers.

I noticed that Ut2003 wouldnt play on the win xp drivers, becuase i was to lazy to get the nvidia ones for my card.

Corrupted download?
Dodgy drivers like Peerzy said?
Try uninstalling UT2003 if he has that installed?
Tried a reinstall?

EDIT: By the way that crappy WinXP error thing just means there was an error, click the details button and copy that here, it'll give us more information to what the problem is.

maybe a clean install? if not try dl ing it from a different source : ie: m(irc)
