    godamnit!

    im getting this modem guys....

    what you think...?
    modem looks good.

    No Cable Installation Hassles
The ADSL technology utilises your existing twisted-pair copper telephone line, eliminating the need for an expensive and inconvenient cable installation.
what hassles? most people already have cable naer the computer anyway, and if not the installation is free and they do it in like 10 minutes...thats teh service I got from rogers.

For all those wondering, I have Cable, and it's quite fast too. (from tech.msn.com speed test its like 2800kbps)

I don't want to replace any parts because that would void the warranty.
Don't think you can't have a hardware problem(network card) or a software issue(outdated drivers) just because you have a new computer.

I mean, it's just plain ignorant to think such a thing. After-all, there's a reason that a warranty is given. No manufacturer is perfect. None.
I was just saying that I had a new computer and thats prob not the problem because I was saying that it most likely isn't my hardware; i kno theres always a risk of there being bad hardware.

ill contact HP and see what they have to say... also, can those driver updates be downloaded from windows update?

(BTW, chances are you have an on-board network interface if it's an HP. You can still add a network card for cheap if worse comes to worse.)
    What do you mean?

I just checked off "Automatically Detect Settings" under Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings in IE..... do you think this will do anything?
