there are a lot of dvdrs that are descripted as having english/spanish or whatever subs titles

for example school of rock big italian (thou im unsure if this is subs or dub)

is it the case that these subs are a SELECTABLE option rather than being fixed to the film where cant turn them off?

If title of file shows Italian, or Spanish, or French etc then it is the version in that language (maybe dubbed). If you are talking about a true rip (4 GB approx) then that may have a subtitle file with it.
