lets keep our eye on the ball here. this is an attempt by the Riaa/mpaa to slander filesharing networks. if they can portray this software and us as scum to the average suburban nitwit, congress will start to pass stricter laws. simples as that.

using this sort of tactics! i'm ashamed of RIAA. But unfortuenately it seems to me we filesharers do have a very big image problem because of things like this. this is why most people don't like to talk about filsharing in the open. 'cos some idoit will always associate filesharers with sad no-lifes.

yeah, i agree, kid-porn producers should be shot.
*edit: preferably with a M16A2, or a 12 guage shotgun

This is a really scary topic! I agree that childporn ought to be eliminated from p2p networks, too, but that if it can be filtered out, so could regular MP3's or any other type of files. The only way to do our own parts is to not even download it ever. The only way I can think to see if someone had such filenames without downloading it or searching for it would be to happen to chance upon some while you were looking at "more files from this user" while downloading some mp3 from them.

You really DON'T even want to TRY to search for the stuff because there are ALSO people like the guy in California who's deliberately putting out bogus child porn named files just so HE can trace and report whoever seems to be looking for it. So I 'd advise NEVER even TRYING to look for any by search keywords (or any other method, either.) And if you want to find the old 70's song "Oh oh, child", be very sure your search filter is set to look for MP3's only.

In the U.S., it's a federal offense to even be in possession of any child porn - way worse than getting sued by the RIAA. Plus, if you're the kind of scum who collects this stuff, you can see from recent news articles that getting sent to jail for it could be fatal - and I don't think anybody would have any sympathy, either.
    Dare to think for yourself.

Question? Why is "teenie porn" acceptable, but child porn not? Do people honestly believe when you reach 18 you are a completely different person. Some these girls look barley past puberty and they made to look like innocent school girls.

I'm not condoning child porn or anything, just wish people put some thought into their beliefs.

eh? To some people, all of it is acceptable and to other people none of it is acceptable. That's just the way the world is. Same thing goes for p2p filesharing and speeding on the highways. Some people do it lots, some not at all. At least I don't think filesharing caused any fatalaties yet, unless... maybe someone suicided when they got their RIAA letter?

    Right on b4icu!

This dehumanizing is the same stratagy that our government uses when we go to war, it makes it much easier to kill a terrorist than a human.

I think what's so dangerous about this tactic is the timing. It happens to come along during election year...and you know how those voters will elect canidates based on the issues.

The sad part is passing another law will do nothing to stop this illegal activity. Besides, calling all filesharers child pornographers and terrorist is like me calling all politicians thieves and liars. Oopps, did I say that...

Also, let's remember that not all filesharing is illegal.
