No firewall,

As for router I do share my connection, but it's not a conventional router though, it's a PCI card that network through the phone line.

So can someone tell me of a way to forward my BT ports(6881-6<something>)? I've beent trying but I can't get anything to work.

look changing clients won't help if he being chocked by not have the correct ports open
why help if your just hurting him

you need to open ports 6881 to 6889
there is a program called port magic but don't think its been cracked
maybe ask the person that built your network to open your ports

forcing it, still doesn't change the fact that you're not connecting well

@Havoc, i think you have to give some info on the card you use

some clients show the colours some dont i have my ports open and a firewall norton

Just make sure win xp firewall is off or change client long as you upload ok and download ok thats fine just dont leave you pc wide open and dont forget free online scans

Even if they don't show the colours it doesn't change the reality that the ports ARE blocked and so your download and upload speed will be much lower. You will still be able to up/download but at crap speeds.

As jetje said i think we need more info on the hardware you're using, it doesn't sound too common (or at least i've never come across it). You (& WOX) could even try posting in hardware world if you don't get an answer here.

if you use burst you can makr sure the right ports are open sounds like the card is blocking

after port forwarding or allowing firewall access look to uninstall and reinstall ur bt client
