Simply poke open the little silver mini toothpaste tubes and use straight .. or mix with water?

If you use water...well...it's best if you don't. Unless you want a mess.
If you need to thin it out, it's best to use something like linseed oil. I used to use turpentine, but you're young, so don't.
There *are* water "mixable" oils. I've never used them.
You can also use it right out of the tube.

lol, picture a teenage boy doing some last minute work to make his book look like it has been used at all for the last 5 years and you'll have an idea and the kinda situation Im in, lol. Took a quick pic of the paints and have attached it here. They claim to be professional, and dont appear cheap looking .. unlike the brush, lol. But ill try to do some quick sea pics with oil paints ... seems so rough though .. and each brush stroke last about a second before I need more....

A warning about oils: they take a very long time to dry, unless you're speeding up the process with a hairdryer.
You must be using the paint pretty thick. Oils are to be layered, and, of course, varying the thickness of the layers gives specific texturing.

Oil paints are similar to other paint .. just dab and stroke right?

Well, they kind of look familiar, but then again most oil tubes do.It should have a name on the label. Not that the brand really matters...that was more for my curiousity.
At its basis, yes, oils are like other paints. But the techniques used for oils are very different than, say, watercolours. I happen to like oils better than the other types of paint, but you won't not be able to paint if you treat them like acrylics or something. First time using oils, I take it?

ah ... the brand is PMS ... dont have a clue who they are .. but then I never knew who edward hopper is till 3 days ago, lol.

Not really...as I said, the more modern stuff isn't my thing. Nighthawks is the only painting I can name of his.
I've always thought van Gogh's Potato Eaters was depressing.

You really are great Nakor .. thank you very much for doing this for me. Can now say ive looked and liked other artists painting ... and can be influenced by there styles. Got my 10hour exam starting tomorrow, and finishing friday so I'll let you know how I get on.
