To address some of the stated reservations.

1) It attracts the wrong crowd.

&nbsp; That kinda offends me.&nbsp; I look at porn and have several friends who enjoy looking at it.&nbsp; We are not criminals nor do we go out and rape or pillage.&nbsp; Nor is there some type of ethics tests to log&nbsp; onto here...for all we know any one of the users here culd be bad...I mean this is a forum about filesharing which is being used for the most part to swap copyrighted material which maybe of itself unethical.We don&#39;t make&nbsp; users answer to any high moral code or anything like that.

2) Kids may see it

Yes and I can see that can be veiwed as bad.&nbsp; But that is true on the internet period.&nbsp; It&#39;s funny that the fileswapping phenonom(sp&#33 was pushed as a way to get around censorship in certain countries like China yet here we are...talking about it...We could do our part with a disclaimer and parents need to be PARENTS and do their part...If I had a child there are all kinda things one can do...to&nbsp; fix the&nbsp; porn issue..a friend of mine put his kids computer in the kitchen and wont let him use it unless either he or his wife could see the monitor...that takes no computer savvy or skill at all....

3) It&#39;s not wanted

&nbsp; The poll numbers do not necessarily reflect the true response to veiwing porn since there is still a social stigma attached to veiwing it. I am also confused by the difference in results from this poll compared to the other dozen or so ran before ownership changed not sure if their is any correlation just an observation.

In closing I would like to point out this:

The two most popular files swapped on amost P2P&#39;s are music and porn.&nbsp; This is supposed to be a fileswapping forum. To not have a section for the second(maybe top?)most shared file type just to me sounds rediculus..especially for reasons i have see so far...filesharing is of itself a radical anarchist type of expression to worry about ones image or legaility in certain areas such as free speech or privacy issues.&nbsp; Also I would like to point out that one surefire way to insure that this isnt some type of RIAA honeypot trap forum that is gonna be ran for a couple of years to log ips and the bust people for music swapping is to have a porn section because a upstanding body(sarcasm) like the RIAA would not want to be associated with a site that contained said porn area..

Hope this in some way makes u think about it...

2) This is still a filesharing board, not a porn site. This board may not support COPPA (maybe?) but nudity still isn&#39;t allowed here.

I understand it&#39;s a secret ballot..but I am adressing the ones that dont have the nerve to even cast a vote even if they like porn because ot the social guilt factor..have known people who go to strip clubs but deny it. Know ADULTS who wont even buy condoms evn tho the clerk doesnt know them because of shame?&#33;

1)I see what u mean but of course some might say a forum about filesharing material much of it copyrighted already attracts "the wrong people" just as bad as a porn sight...it attracts in some eyes thieves and cheats and criminals..hell am waiting for the RIAA to get smart and use The Homeland Security Act to shut all this down...No telling what files and maps and blueprints and secret messages that terrorists can send to one another using this...not to mention some terrorist created virus that is spread thru P2P...and no way to know whether they are using this forum and software that they have learned about here to do it..they are the wrong crowd if there ever was one...so should we shut this whole forum down because of this? And no way to know if they are already here

2) neither is it a music site...nor any other specific type of site..it is supposed to be a fileswapping site and porn is one of the top files that is swapped on P2P.

See, but nobody here has to admit they watch porn. They can just vote, run away, and tell nobody about it. I understand the stigmatism that might go on IRL, but that&#39;s exactly the reason people deny whatever to other people.

Yes but some wont admit it even to themselves..which is scary....there was a movie star that would collect porn for a while then burn it every so often just out of guilt of owning it...


BTW..can someone please define"The Wrong Crowd.." this phrase popped up as a reason and its been bugging me.Exactly what is the wrong crowd that a porn section would attract?

Rapists? pedos? what?...I am sure both of these sickos know about P2P or have access to finding out about it...especially since P2p and filesharing is like the number one hit on goggle for almost f++king forever...so am sure they already come here to get the latest updates on software and codex talk...so...please..tellme who this wrong crowd is and whats keeping them from coming here now?

Give me a day or two and i&#39;ll have it up and running

It&#39;s just that something like this might attract kidnappers (we have children here too), people who collect / trade KP, etc.

I think those kind of people are more likely to be found in chatrooms then on message boards.A board has a better overview on members and their actions then a simple chat.
e.g:rules and advice on what to do and what not can be made more extensive on a board then in a chat,where they just have a bot saying things like no swearing,etc...
But yah,i do get your point though.
A direct link to it might not be such a good idea,eventhough i doubt that the children these days are that easely misguided by person impersonating someone they&#39;re not.And those who are probably don&#39;t feel the need to visit an adult filesharing talk.Let allone that they would be active posters there.

Maybe a good option is to only post the link to it on this board,so only people that are members here can register there( with the same username they have in here).

That of course assumes that there are no children on this board to begin with.

Porn is fine, although I don&#39;t know if I want it connected to here.

However, there may be file sharing issues for those downloading porn that is unique to porn files, in which case I think it is ok.

As for the children, I think our youngest appear to be around 13ish. They are already pretty worldly wise for being involved in filesharing and so are probably not unaware of what likely material is to be found on the Internet.

They will continue to make the choices they have been making and we would just have to trust them (or root em out...Mods could have fun here, marching em out of the forum by the virtual ear&#33; )

Also if it was members only password protected (perhaps by subscription to the forum Mod so modesty could be maintained for those who feel uncomfortable with EVERYONE knowing they watch porn ) this could possibly work.
