i wanted to make a clip out of bowling for columbine (the what a wonderful world part with the U.S. foreign policy in the past 50 years thing), so i use virtual dub and select the sequence to be copied and saved as avi (26:02 min to 28:28 min), but the projected file size comes out to be 1.7 gb!! anyone know how to prevent this from happening? if not, how do i compress the finished product? because the movie (whole thing) is only 700 mb, and that little 2 minute clip that i want is double that of the entire movie ! so any feedback would help.

p.s., anyone else find that wonderful world part a little bit disturbing? and a weird disturbing too, cuz i can't stop replaying that part, it's just too intriguing even though i have seen it a million times , i guess that's i wanted to save that part on my hd

On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.

mate its re-encoding it,u only want to cut a piece out.Set the video on direct stream and the audio >save avi.

You'll have the exact clip you've cut. from the avi.
