I used to be on the night shift at a factory that made kitchenware.
The hours were midnight - 6:30 am.

We always set production records, because there were no bosses about to slow us down.

On Saturdays I have to start work at 6.30am. I know it's not really night, but in the winter it's often still pitch black dark then, and by the time I get home in the mid-afternoon I have to go back to bed cos I feel so tired!

I'm a graveyarder. I work midnight to noon, seven days a week, twenty-eight days straight. It takes a day or two to get into the swing of it. Usually take two or three days to get back on "normal" time.

The payoff is after a work period I get twenty-eight days off, with pay. While that is good, I only get paid for six hours a day working or not. There ain't no free lunch.

Cheers omc
