And then there's people who just don't get it...

I mean, red roses, white wine, Fontana di Trevi under the moonlight... What did she think I was trying to communicate ?

Because people like to be sure the other side's interested before they spit out their deepest emotions.

Problem is, I tend to "test the waters" for so long they just end up dating one of my retard friends

I guess the old "blitzkrieg" tactic does lack in subtlety.

but still, then you know right away- it helps if you've known them for a bit first though, but that looking for hints business is just annoying.

Well, yes it's annoying as hell, but it's part of the game. Lately I've been interested in a girl I study with. Is she interested ? Maybe; some signs are there. Does this make my day more exciting ? Hell yes.

And I'll take the 75% chance of embarrasment, thank you.

EDIT : As some potheads I used to know would say : "We're à la chasse "

@ snny - we are all talking about the hints before you ask that make sure that they like you back - you do have to eventually ask them out ... but the fun comes before - it also gives me something to chat to my mates about

    fred-

I'd share some advice, but I wouldn't know since no one likes me. Being a nerd, freshman, and bad at sports just plain sucks. Oh, and looking like a 10 year old and being weak doesn't help either. The freshman girls either like the jocks (most of which are jerks and only are with them because they want to get laid) or the upperclassmen (usually for the same reason as the jocks). For boys liking girls, we either pay way too much attention to them, or in my case, are absolutely terrified of them. It just sucks that I'm a decent person looking for a nice relationship, but they all go out with the "cool" kids that drink and do drugs and are going to get what they want from them and then dump them.
