J'pol, I am interested to hear what you think the correct procedure for criminal punishment should be? Do you think out current system is correct, with criminals serving shorter sentences or given warnings?
I am genuinley curious.

the correct procedure was to wait for the police to arrive and not taking matters into own handsOriginally posted by RGX@9 April 2004 - 14:42

No, I can read. I am asking about the criminal justice process IN GENERAL. J'pol was referring to beatings and mutilation as punishment for crime. I was wondering what he thought the correct punishment procedure should be.

It should involve a trial, evidence and a verdict.
Where appropriate it should involve punishment.
There are no circumstances where that punishment should be physical violence.
That makes us as bad as, or worse than, the offender.
I do not believe in corporal or capital punishment.

Technically, that is our system. Im not entirely sure how it has gone wrong.
Thanks though.
bullshit. the criminal justice system does not work on petty criminals
its often obvious who the criminal is without official trial
