I have noticed people getting really upset about posts being moved. I noticed that the topic headers still remain in the lounge, so I was wondering what was so upsetting?
I have always felt that getting a post moved was kind of a bonus, because it was like getting one post in two forums at the same time. In my mind that means that people who don't normally hang out in the lounge get a crack at it too.
Of course the whole theory goes to pot if people have some kind of allergic reaction to moved topics so, what I require is info on the following 3 questions.
1. Do you avoid moved topics? and if so, why do you not look at them?
2. What exactly is it about the move that is so maddening?
3. When your topic is moved, do you get more or less replies?
Just looking for direct answers here and maybe we can put this sucker to bed for good. Now I know most people would prefer that the forum you post in, is the forum you wanted your post in. But the post doesnt really go anywhere, so that is not what we're debating here. What im trying to establish is this: If my post is moved, will I get more traffic to it? or less? and if its the case of more, then is that not a good thing?
Okie... Go for it!
