Thread: Serious Problem With Ie

    ok so i was on google.com yesterday and i searched for skyline GTR pictures, so i clicked on one pic and it went to a site with a whole bunch of porn popups that some how got through my pop up stopper, i didn't think much of it until the next day when my homepage whas changed to 'coolsearch.com' or something like that, it disabled my pop up stopper and peer guardian, it doesn't show up on ad aware or pc cillin virus scan, and usually every 10 mins an internet popup shows up...there are 4 new processes running now: qfqcumx.exe; msbb.exe; optimize.exe; and actalert.exe. it also installed 'gold casino' on my computer but I uninstalled that.

    i'm going to try and post this on a bunch of other forums to get as much help as possible...PLEASE HELP

    Spybot and Ad-aware are more n00b-friendly than hijackthis

    Spybot Search and Destroy just download this and install and let it scan, it will pick it up and then you can delete it. You may need to uninstall coolsearch in the add/remove programs bit too

    thnks for your help but my buddy just reminded me of system restore, that fixed it so its all good now
