well, it figures i guess...
the $50 stick at bestbuy is an online offer only...
their in-store prices are double that
$100 for a 256 DDR stick
$150 for a 512 DDR

compusa has a 512 DDR stick for $100

anyway, thanks guys/gals B)

(if i run into any probs later you will be hearing from me)
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.

its not super trick or nothin from what i have read, but...
two memory slots supporting up to 2 gigs,
three or four PCI slots, upgradeable to a faster CPU...
(got a athlon xp 2400+ @ 2 gigs atm)
and some more shit that i cant remember/dont care to list

I got my 512 pc2700 for 64 USD after shipping on ebay. Works good. I saw this one auction finish at 70 for 2 stick of 512. Too bad I didnt have the money at the time Check ebay every few days you'll be able to find some nice deals.
