I was trying to delete some mp3s and their associate art files and misc files that get downloaded using soulseek. Anyways, some of the mp3s and some of the other files cannot be deleted. When I attempt to do so, I get a dialog box pop up with a message saying:

Error Deleting File Or Folder
Cannot delete "whatever the name is..." Cannot find the specified file.
Make sure you specified the correct path and the file name.
Ok

Anyways... I have deleted single files in these folders... but some of the mp3s and other files will remain... and you cannot drag them to the recycle bin... and you cannot play the mp3s and you cannot right click and delete. If there is something I am missing... please, someone help.

I am running Windows XP

Thanks

I have restarted a number of times with no luck. Also, I have tried running scandisk, and it never completed.... I had that running all night and when I came back it was still stuck in the same place as where it was when I went to sleep. Also, when I came back... soulseek wasnt working properly. I dont know what the deal is.

if it will let you, rename the file to $$$$ or something, then try to delete it.

make sure hat no 1 is uploading the files u want to delete, coz if some1 is uploading the files u want 2 delete da os won't let u. you can also try moving the files you want to delete into a different folderand then try deleting it... also u could start up windows in safe mode and then try 2 del the files..

Actually none of that stuff will work... tried nero and a few other apps.... but believe it or not... some NOOB showed me the light... thanks 8th ::::))))

P.S. if you ever have a problem where you cannot delete files from your hard drive using windows.... try deleting them in DOS. Worked like a charm. Thanks again noob. Cheers.
