Don't call me stupid because the rest of the world thinks the American people are idiots. Steve Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland thinks Americans may be avoiding having an experience of cognitive dissonance, i.e. having their beliefs conflict with the facts.
