Try this and see if it still works. If it does maybe you have a virus or something. (try checking your HOSTS file)

for god sake , using firefox , will not solve this users current problem

its just ignoring the problem by using a different browser

Back to the topic, this may work if spyware/ adware has changed your settings in the reg

This was obviously when i got searchnow adware/spyware on my system , but just ignore, the new values and set each one back to the old value

Restoring search options

Also to reset you search option within IE you might want to edit the following in regedit

When you find each value name, right click and choose modify,
and cut and paste the old valve into the window and click ok
where it says <none>, just delete anything in the window and click ok

Registry Location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Value Name: Start Page
Old Value: Code:
http://www.google.com.au/

New Value: <none>
User Action Taken: RESTORE OLD VALUE

Note this is my home page, you might want to put your own in here instead of google
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Value Name: Search Page
Old Value: Code:
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir...ie&ar=iesearch

New Value: Code:
http://minisearch.startnow.com

User Action Taken: RESTORE OLD VALUE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Value Name: Search Bar
Old Value: <none>
New Value: Code:
http://minisearch.startnow.com

User Action Taken: RESTORE OLD VALUE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then go here
Registry Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Value Name: Search Page
Old Value: Code:
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir...ie&ar=iesearch

New Value: Code:
http://minisearch.startnow.com

User Action Taken: RESTORE OLD VALUE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Value Name: Start Page
Old Value: Code:
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?p...B_PVER}&ar=home

New Value: Code:
http://www.startnow.com

User Action Taken: RESTORE OLD VALUE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Value Name: Search Bar
Old Value: <none>
New Value: Code:
http://minisearch.startnow.com

User Action Taken: RESTORE OLD VALUE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Value Name: Default_Search_URL
Old Value: Code:
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir...ie&ar=iesearch

New Value: Code:
http://minisearch.startnow.com

User Action Taken: RESTORE OLD VALUE

you can now close regedit
