did you try partitioning , formating and installing xp from just the cd yet
it gets to the part where it is about to copy system files but crashes and has error sessions5_intialization_error

is that after you partitioned with the windows xp cd
then let it format with the windows xp cd
and then let it try to install

well , then if you said this h/d worked fine in another comp
the only thing i can suggest is to go to the bios an set it back to defaults to see if its something in the bios thats screwing it up
ether that or disconnect any other ide hardware from the ide cables , eg like cdrom drives ect and see if it works then
if the 2 above dont work , grab another h/d and see if the same thing happens
if it does your mobo is rooted , if it doesnt the h/d is confused and i cant see nother way around it
I am running a memory test right now and later i will probably reset cmos cause that helped a while ago.
