no ide slots needed, thats very old technology. pci slots arent really too needed becuase of everything being onboard these days, but id still go for 5 which is standard these days. agp slot for sure. might wanna wait a while for pci express, which will replace pci and agp.Originally posted by trillscout@27 April 2004 - 21:02

cpu question: amd or pentium. which one xp 2500+, p4.3, athlon 64 or keep what I have-p4 2.0mhz?
for processor, well it depends which company you like better, amd or intel. The amd processors tend to give more bang for your buck. if you have the money, fgo for an athlon 64 fx 53\51\ or amd 64 3400+. They give around the same performance as teh pentium 4 cpus of the same price range, but thats in 32bit software, and in 64bit it will be veyr much improved...
