I have a Linksys Wireless Router Model BEFW11S4 and I am not able to receive photos from people when I am using Yahoo Messenger. Also, I cannot host remote desktop on MSN/Windows Messenger. I talked with Linksys and they need the ports that yahoo and MSN uses for these functions. I just would like to go and do it by myself if possible with some guidance from someone here, so I dont have to spend all the time on my cell phone with Linksys. I also need to set the listening port on version 154 of Soulseek because I inadvertantly changed it... and I need to change it so it is correct. If anyone has suggestions and a step by step, that would be great. Thanks.

    first read this

and then you will have to find the ports used by each app

most of the time you can find the poet numbers in the options section of each program

eg yahoo messenger its login preferences , then file transfer

but , i usualy use my firewall to detect which ports are being accessed for ingoing and outgoing ports , the just set port forward for those connections

Delphin... I really appreciate your help, although the link you provided has the photos removed .... so I couldnt follow at all after I had it up to the forwarding tab. Anyways... I did check out some of the other posts.... but they probably wont help much. Someone did mention something about triggering, but I dont even want to get into that, before I know what else I should be doing first.

Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.
