The entire Wars series has been a Ninty exclusive since the 8-bit era IIRC (starting with the Jap-only Famicom Wars). Not going to change anytime soon, fortunately ^_^
And the developer (Intelligent Systems) even has Mario on it's main page)

@ red-boxer. try onne of the gba games, theyre nothing like the GC one but they are uber cool and pretty much impossible
