Thread: Switched From Avg7 To Noron Corp V8

1. #1
I tryed installing avg7 again without the recommended update
and it still caught the crack

so I dled another avg7 ver from suprnova
it works but it's a network edition avg and I noticed it doesn't scan any of my
emails or attachments at all.

So I gave up and went to norton corp8. Is this a good AV or am I better
of with avg6?

I'm running corp and I noticed it uses less resources than avg7 but still not
sure if it scans incoming emails. But it takes longer to scan my comp.

I hear that Norton Corp is the only good edition of Norton, but I would still use AVG 6 over Norton. But if you can get NOD32, use it. Waaaay better than the both of them.
BTW, if you still want to use AVG 7, there is a keygen out there that might work, but I don't think you can use keys that last longer than two years (because you can use the keygen to caluculate what year it expires).

192823 files in 68:26 minutes too long but it doesn't slow down my comp
at all.

it found 1 virus-backdoor.IRC.Ratsou.d

so I guess its ok for now, but why is the corp edition better
than the other nortons?

That's why. People say it handles resources better.
I just have this "thing" against norton products now.

You want speed? Go with NOD32. Fast, and uses very little resources. You can see what it can do by downloading the on-demand scanner. There's a topic on this forum about it.

how do I know if it's checking my emails?

It doesn't have a certified message at the end of emails like
nod32 or avg.

The program has a email scanner but the name is MS exchange.
But I have outlook express. Does it still protect it?

I don't know what Norton does now. I haven't used it in quite a while.

The thing is, I don't use e-mail clients at all. Well, I've avoided them and thus I don't need e-mail protection, so I can't help you there. But I was thinking of trying Mozilla Thunderbird.
