I just got Tony Hawk 3, and I was wondering if anyone knows why the directional pad on my axis-pad controller won't work. The Analog joysticks work, but I would rather use the dir. pad. I can't get the game configuration to recognize them.

How well a controller works (or doesn't work) mainly depends on how much effort the game designers put into it. If you have your joystick setup right in Windows|Control Panel, and the game still doesn't recognize it, you're probably out of luck. You could try going to the publisher's website to see if they have any FAQs about controller setup. Or if you happen to have a programmable gamepad, like a Sidewinder or Gravis pad, you could just bind the arrow keys to the directional pad.
