i have an avi file that when u play it, it opens my browser. how is it doing this?
its def an avi and plays with no problems

Try opening up "my computer"
Click "tools"
Select "Folder options"
Go to the "file types" tab
Scroll down to the .avi extension
Highlight it by single clicking and select the "change" option
You will get a list of programs to select from so choose which one you want as your default player.
Should be a piece of cake.

there is an option when encoding these to open a web page when it finishes playing. Im sure if you use a 3rd party video player it would not have this feature.
try videolan and see it does it then.
