not true, before I knew the wonders of videolan I could always play the .dat from the mpegav folder in mpc or wmp
in fact I did it so much I associated ..dat's with wmp so i could just click it, but videolan is much better

try reinstalling it, are go back to a old version maybe, it works great on my POS of a laptop

just found the solution. use their newest beta version: 0.7.2-test2 on this page. it fixed all problems for me like moving the video and making it fullscreen.
now videolan rules. B)
