    I've read several posts on this subject in the forum.. if I remember correctly, the general concensus was not to try it.. your ISP will catch you.

    As for uncapping your modem it all depends on what type of modem it is and what ISP you use. Fatal Error's correct in that if you manage to uncap your modem your ISP will be notified of the change, cut you off and ban you for life, as they see it as a theft of service.     http://www.pcpitstop.com/ has free tests for your computer and connection, they advise you what to change/add and have a connection tweak program as well.


    BTW: This topic belongs in Softwareword instead of Filesharing, in my opinion.

    I took that speed test before and got results very similar to Leech_Killer's I'd retake it and post a link but right now I'm downloading so if I did my results would be skewed.
