For those of you who own a ATI Radeon 9800 PRO or XT

I just want to ask a very quick simple question....

If i get the pro instead of the XT will i regret it? Im not to fussed about 5% or whatever the difference between them... I just want to know if im making the right choice....

    Gigacube GC-R9800PROC3 Xtreme, Radeon 9800 Pro, 128MB 2.5ns DDR 256bits (380/700Mhz) w TV/DVI, HL-2, 24 month warranty

    rather then the

    Gigacube GC-R9800XTD3, Radeon 9800 XT, 256MB 2.5ns DDR 256bits (412/730Mhz) w TV/DVI, HL-2, 24 month warranty

    which costs NZ$300 more!!

Please dont say..."read the pinned topic...blah blah blah" because i have... i just want to know first hand from 'real' people who have used and experienced the difference....

    Thanks in advance :beerchug: o

the 9800 line is better than the 9600 line.. some urban legend i have heard is that the 9800xt sucks... and that the 9800 pro is better... i have no clue if its true sounds wrong
for one thing though the 9800xt has a slightly higher clock, 256 ram, and the list goes parelel, however the 9800pro should play almost all the stuff you want for some time untill 64 bits comes out and the coming of pci express... the 9800 pr only has 128 mb ram, but thats plenty for any system.. i would say i would stick with the 9800 pro... its a good card i know that much i use one, i have set it up with WCing and it can defintily overclock... but be carefull on that note, remember not a noob question everyone wants to spend thier money well... hope that helps some!
    9800xt sucks??

it's only the best card out of all the ones benched

I agree with staying with the pro being a better idea, but just because of the price issue
in no way does the 9800xt "suck" though
