Colin Mcrae Rally 04 - Exit To Windows

I downloaded Colin McRae Rally 04 yesterday and when I play it, it closes and exists to windows randomly.
Does anyone know what could cause this?

the rally races are only on GT cos they had some spare space on the disk

Drivers upto date, Direct X upto date no patches or new cracks for download.
Took me about 7 hrs to download this shit.
