Ad-lib, perhaps you could place a few screen shots, to give us all an idea what you have on your mind?Originally posted by ad-lib@17 May 2004 - 17:49
Hello all,
Who I am, and what my contribution to this site will be evident shortly.
For now, I ask, what do you think?
Indeed, Invision Board is a great piece of software. However, vBulletin is the commercial (paid) bulletin board solution used by a large majority of forums. Additionally, I feel the overall appeal/aesthetic the vB will provide - Is much more professional than that of Invision board.
Please let me know your thoughts, as this will determine whether or not the board is switched.
Thank you,
-Michael
I don't know about everyone else, but I really don't like vBulletin. For those that don't know about it, take a look around at the Winamp Forums and get a first impression of it.

what is the good reason for the move, coz the board has been nice and stable and fast for a while now.
But Im not going to pretend to know whats going on really.
Now we got a nice flashing Banner also.
That banner makes me think about the Money too. and Scams....
Well, maybe we all know in a day or two more than right now.

If we do decide to move let's not tell the one known as Withcheese of the move, we could do without cheese.Originally posted by Mr JP Fugley@18 May 2004 - 16:44
In all honesty, if we decided to move the community then we could do it fairly easily.
iI we decided that we did not like the way things were going then most people could be contacted and told where we were all going to meet up. In fact there are plenty of people here who could set up a new forum I would have thought.
There are also plenty of people experienced in being mods, admin whatever. We could quite easily just bug-out and leave this forum as a wasteland. Like I said, all it takes is for people to be able to contact one another and pass on the message of where we have gone, then for those people to pass it on to other people who they can contact. Just like has been done elsewhere.
It has been said many times, the community we have is the people not the board we frequent. So it's not a like it or lump it scenario. It is a matter of consensus, we have the ultimate power here. I am quite sure no-one really cares about the forum itself anymore (we did at one time) it is about the friends we have made here. So long as we all go to the same place which suits us, or for preference we build one for ourselves then nothing would change.![]()
Oh here now, I think we need cheese.
Nothing is ever the same if cheese is not an option. That's not to say that you need to take it, but it's nice to know it's there if you want it.
