Doesn't really matter what it is because 90% of contributors in here will be recommending everyone turns it off as it's a resource hog.
There isn't a bargepole long enough for me to work on [a Sony Viao] - clocker 2008

ill stilll be using it though
besides, by the time its actually released we'll all probably have 2gb of ram atleast.
all public versions of longhorn have the eyecandy disabled (except for the occasional animated windows security screen when u hit ctrl+alt+delete
thats why im planning on migrating to 4080 asap (i downgraded my winHEC build (4074) down to 4073 which has the eyecandy enabled lol
i ended up not being able to install my soundcard drivers tho lol...
btw all of nvidia's eyecandy addons for XP work with longhorn (running 60.72 or less. 61.11 has a bug in the nView system )
@ bigdawg: eyecandy such as waves when dragging a form (window for the non-programmers lol) or minimizing an app... like the genie effect in mac os X.3
also: some eyecandy that is turned on includes: gradual fade effects when keeping the mouse over a control (checkbox fades an orange highlight in, etc...) and the folder thumbnails, rather than being a giant folder with 4 divv. pics, it will be a 3d folder placed on its side with a thumbnail pic inside...
other eyecandy: the sidebar
bugs that i notiuced:some plus signs:
- animated security screen still has bugs
- CANT CREATE A NEW FOLDER THRU EXPLORER... U NEED A BATCH FILE WTF???
- zip files which are only feebly locked with a password (not encrypted) can still be opened w/o a password
- flash files are no longer password protected
- activation is harder to crack (checks key in real time and compares it to a m$ blacklisting database
- if u log off with some folders open, when u log onn next time explorer will crash upon load
- HUGE RAM HOG!!! (dload fix from iexbetas lol)
- just barely goes over the size of a CD (overburn wont work here either )
- msHearts engine is too easy
- explorer occasionally destroys its own files (notepad and regedit first to die not a virus either)
- when sidebar is enabled, sidebar and taskbar style cannot be changed
- task manager freezes (wtf?) occasionally
- hard as hell to create new themes
btw: lh came as 750ish megs without any extras like screensavers...?
- nvidia drivers are flawless
- works with all apps even as old as windows 3.1 apps
- looks better
- programmers can program an AIM addon to the sidebar during their spare time
- free for MSDN subscribers
- still retains windows Classic theme
- u can still lock ur comp even if u have fast user switching enabled
- very easy to use installation process
ur not missin too much, cept for the fact that porn toolbars dont work with IE
btw, google around and ull find a guide to converting lh to lh media center edition

no no the kind of eyecandy i thought there would be you would have noticed right away thought the whole things would all be 3d effects, really wierd, kinda didnt know what to expect, but still thought there would be more than what you have mentioned.
btw, can you ftp me longhorn build 4073 over night so i can see for myself? or do u think i should wait till 4080? (keep in mind i already have 4053, so i want to actually see something different)
