What is RR's advertised speed?

Read the fine print...your Modems are rated at "Up to 3.0 - 5.0 Mbps"...that doesn't mean you're going to get that speed.

Rogers & Shaw both are saying the same thing... Up to 3.0 - 5.0 Mbps. Not a guaranteed 3 - 5 Mbps.

My new DSL modem is rated at "Up to 15 Mbps...but I'm not going to get that speed. If I did...it would give Windows a heart attack.

So all in all...you're are right at 1.5 just like the rest of us. The FCC regulates the speed...the next jump will be 2.0 Mbps, but not for awhile.

My ADSL modem's rated at 8.192/1.024Mbps - of course, I inevitably am incapable of experiencing this speed.

Roadrunners advertised speed is 3.0 mbps down and 512 kbps up. Do you think I might be able to get more speed with a different modem other than the one they provided me with?

actual speed test give you the results of a 5mbps speed test

@ jaighandhi, over here bell's upload speed is less than half of rogers's...and that just upgraded my area so tehre are less people connected to each server (this is how the dude explained it lol) so we won't experience any slowdowns at all...which i don't.

I just read your previous posts and 3mbits is approximately equal to the download speed of 339.4KB/s that you quoted earlier.

so buying another modem is unecessary.
