Some Kind Of Virus

my co-workers computer is really messed up. the thing is that all his apps are messed up and he cant cant open a single application including his anti-virus apps. everytime he tries to open somthing it just opens up adobe acrobat. the internet explorer is the only thing that is working for him.

any sugestions.
