i reformatted my computer and now it has no sound
i forgot to backup my drivers now i dont know what i need

try using the microsoft updates that might update your drivers for you . if you know the make of your sound card you could go to there site and d/l the drivers there
use device manager to install the new driver. device manager is in control panel.
or find out the make/model of the soundcard and go to the manfactures site and download the latest driver for it.

Edit: It always seem to be the sound card that people have trouble with. Did you install your Mobo drivers? like chip set drivers as well? UDI will work with ALL version's of windows.
Tell us what 1. Motherboard you ahve if it is onboard sound, or 2. what soundcard you have.
Then we can find you the drivers u need to install.
