I just upgraded my Linksys router BEFSR41 ver. 2 with the 1.45.11, Jun 03 2004 firmware. After it completed.. I went back to see whats new and I noticed the router config page loads much slower now! Much Slower!! Would it be safe to go back and install the older firmware or can I reinstall this current one and see if that helps? This sucks, because the pages used to load lightning fast with the old firmware. What gives?

Yea just did and that didnt solve the problem. I dont know why the latest firmware would "slow" it down rather than improve it?? Are there any issues following this? I know I did use the correct drivers, because I double checked the router version number.

not sure.. I cant afford to damage it by installing old firmware over the new. I want to learn the facts first. No one seems to know much about this I suppose.

ok, I found out that the most stable version is : 1.44.2z for the BEFS41 ver 2 Linksys Router.

That 1.45.11 crap gave everyone problems, includeing the slower load times on connections. 1.44.2z may be old, but it works! I dont think the updateds in 1.45.11 had to really do with any security, since they said it corrected alot of spelling errors and such... heh, I didnt see any.

btw: noticed my internet page speed is faster.. pages dont stay "blank white" for a split second most of the time now. B)
