    Windows knows exactly what it is because shortcut filenames have the .lnk extension, you just can&#39;t see it.

    ya it&#39;s perfectly safe, i&#39;ve done it in my last like 10 windows installations. I use tweakUI to do it.

    that is an "L" not an "I" in lnkfile
    I plan on beating him to death with his kids. I'll use them as a bludgeon on his face. -

    You&#39;ll have HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT&#092;.lnk
