hey all my friend's got a GF 4 4800 TI SE
and his fan stoped on it.
so we looked online for another one but couldn't find one
so went to look for a vga cooler for O.C. and stuff
but when i look at the holes for the screws to line
    up they don't

so i ask if anyone has found one before or
knows were to find a O.C. one or one to
replace the one that came with it

    p.s.

i was looking at the zalman ZM80D-HP
but i cant seem to find it at any of the online
stores (stores that i have had/heard good history with)
if you could help out at all or have a different idea
    that would be great

    thanks!

The zalman one you listed is very good, but as for not finding any stores that have it, where are you from?
If you can't find that one, have a look at the ZM80C-HP instead, it's just the one before it.
What I did was made my own. If you like take an old cpu heatsink and mod that onto your gfx card. If you plan on maybe doing something like this, just ask and I'll show you how I did mine.
The zalman one would probably preform better then a homemade one, but costs way more so it's up to you

for the store its not about local if i can i will buy online
its just i want a site i can trust-you know credit card #
and all. i just dont want a mom and pop web site
with no way to stop someone from getting my info

as for making it my self-i thought of that to
but the way the board is layed out it out be
very unstable and also there are other point
that need cooling that a 80mm fan cant get to
some transitors and chips are in the way
and if i put i on top of them its to far away
and i dont want to run the risk of cooking it

yea i saw the zm80c but if im going to buy that why not
go all the way its not that much more

do you know of a site that i can trust to buy the zm80d
    from?

    thanks

Hmm I had a look around at all the american sites I know, and it seems that they all only have the ZM80C-HP or even the ZM80A-HP but none seem to have the ZM80D-HP at all
I'll keep lookin around for you though

thank you very much for your help

ps i see in your banner that you oc
and you know comps pretty well

    so i have a ? for you

what would you do if you were me
what would you do with my comp

    amd 3000
    ati 9800xt
    dvd-16x
    dvdrw-8x
    cdrw-52x24x52
    HDD-160gb
    HDD2-160gb
    HDD3 hot swap-80gb
    ram-2x256 DDR 2100
    mobo-GA-7N400 Pro2
case fans-7 4 in front on HDD 2 in back 1 on sidepanal
    psu-400
cpu fan-??? some really good one spins so fast it cut my finger
    case-

    red light not blue

what would you upgrad/OC/mod? other than the ram
    i got moders block

Hmm that is quite a fast comp to begin with, except for the ram obviously. That should be your first priority to upgrade the ram. but other then that it is quite a fast system.
once you get faster ram I would OC the cpu to maybe 2.5ishGhz and OC the new ram as well to run 1:1 ratio with the cpu.
The gfx does not need to be oc'ed but definatly can be if you like. however it's already an amazing card.
how are your fans positioned? I would keep the 4 in front as intake. The 2 in back as exhaust. the sidepanel as intake. and then if your brave cut a blowhole in the top of your case and put a fan in that as exhaust as well. if you do not cut the blowhole, try the sidepanel as exhaust rather then intake. your supposed to try to balance your number of exhaust with your intake to get optimal performance.
I'm familiar with that case, so also one main thing you should do is this. take off your front panel. you'll notice the fan grills on front of your four intake fans are very very restrictive. take a pair of tin snips and cut out those grills. then put your front panel back on. You should do this to the two back grills as wlel, but on the back you should try to make it look nice and clean cut as it will be clearly visible and the front ones will not.
This will give you a lot better airflow and cut down on the noise a bit too.
Other then what I've just said it looks pretty good.
Got any pics of your actual system? Then I could help you with maybe rearranging some components for better cooling, and also help you tidy your wires a bit, not sure what it looks like now, post some pics if you've got em
    Good Luck

yea my 4 fan in front are intake on the HDDs
and the 2 in the back are outgoing
    the sidepanle is intake
forgot to tell you about the system blower
in the back its blowing out the back

and as for air flow i have been meaning cut those out
but all my ide cabes are rounded and out of the way
and my power and any others are in round tubeing
    and out of the way

yea the ram what happened there is i ran out
    money
but i did get my videocard when i came out
    for $375.00
i was happy, full box and all made by ati to
    brand new

sorry no pics just have to use your mind

    no money for camera

Alright, so your cooling seems to be okay
and we all know that with a cool computer, you have plenty of room for a nice OC
The Athlon 3000+ is a Barton Core processor, which are very good overclockers. So with a good heatsink (still not sure what one you have) you should get a hefty OC out of that chip. Especially if you are not affraid to up the voltages of your vcore (chip), vdimm (ram), and chipset (FSB).
Do you know if your multiplyer is locked or not?
