Thread: The Philadelphia Experiment

  1. #11
The supposed subject of the experiment, the destroyer escort USS Eldridge, was never in Philadelphia during its career with the U.S. Navy (its service logs are available on microfilm.)
The Eldridge supposedly was teleported from Philadelphia to Norfolk in the fall of 1943. Some have claimed that the Eldridge's re-materialization at Norfolk was witnessed by the SS Andrew Furuseth but records show that the Andrew Furuseth left Norfolk on August 16, 1943 and did not return to the U.S. until January 17, 1944. Also on record is a letter from the ship's captain stating that no unusual events took place while the Andrew Furuseth was at Norfolk.

It's a myth. You can search google for hundreds of other myths, and you will have about the same amount of results.

so we're lookin for quotes then.....

    Quote 1

Although the story itself seems too bizarre to be true, far too many coincidences have occurred for it to not be based upon some small iota of truth. The technical data that has also been presented upon the subject hold far too much credence to be ignored.

    Quote 2

The Navy has released the Eldridge's deck log and war diary and at no time was the Eldridge in Philadelphia. However, the records could have easily been changed.

you cant just dismiss things like this..... It's not as easy as that

If you search google for moon hoax, you'll see a lot of sites with so called "evidence", stating that Man didn't actually set foot on the moon.

Do you believe that one too?

K, if someone recreates the experiment and lets an object disappear (and teleport) using "the technical data" presented so far, I will believe it.
They haven't done that yet. The "experiment" they prepared for the show shows nothing, and is based on an optical illusion which doesn't break up matter at the molecular or sub-molecular level, what allegedly had happened to that ship. That is indeed very scientific, it's a bit like switching out the light to explain a black hole - and that is probably what the producers of the show must have felt.

And if you ask someone sworn to secrecy if he could divulge something if you asked him, he will of course say no. It doesn't matter how you phrase the question, the answer will always be no. Wtf does that prove? If you ask a secret agent, who spent all his life in Europe, if he could tell you whether he has ever seen Area 51, if he had in fact seen it, he would of course say no. That doesn't prove that there is a possibility that he has seen it, or knows of its existence, it just proves that it is a stupid question.

That is why I find all these speculations and theories rather amusing, up to the point where they say they are actually proving something.
It as actually just as likely that a UFO has teleported the damn ship. And it would make just as much sense.
