    9. Signatures will be restricted in size and content. Signatures may not excede a 495x150 pixel area, this includes all images and text used. The total file size for all images contained in a signature may not excede 100,000 bytes.
    198x200 pixels, therefore no, sorry.

So what we are saying is that complicated moving images within a fixed size area of a sig is okay. However a static image, which takes less time to load, but goes outwith that area is not.

I think the size rule was created with pictures in mind, i.e. the sig was a picture. Not animations.

I take a simple view. If my sig is too big then the board does not allow me to post it, sends a "too big message". If it does not do that then I assume it is okay.

But maybe I'm just talking pi$$ again.

Just edited to say that my total size is currently about 21kb. It is the size of the files which slows the page upload, not the area they take up on the page.

    Perfect!
But if you right-click on your images and select "properties", you can check it out for yourself.

@JmiF, If you set your screen resolution to 800x600 you will see that your image makes it so that the page doesn't fit anymore. I makes a scroll bar appear along the bottom. This is why the rule was set the way it is by VB.

Do people have an 800 x 600 resolution.

That is for 15inch monitors. Does anyone use them any more.

Surely the rules should be for the majority of members. I have a 19 inch screen, so I think they are too small.

Perhaps a poll on monitor sizes, then decide.

    Any chance MODS

well my monitor is only 14" (laptop) and i use 1200x780 or whatever it is, 800x600 is just pointless these days.
