So am I correct in assuming that this "Overnet 0.53a" is more a less a lite or pro version similar to tmpj's Overnetlite?

Isn't Overnet "Lite" simply a pirated Overnet Pro? You could just get Overnet 0.53a, download a reg crack .dll plug-in and "register" Overnet to remove the ads. Same results.

More or less, yes. However this way, there really is nothing installed that could potentially ever become "ad/spyware". No .dll's, or other malicsious .exe's included.

i cant get the betamaster bit to work. Whatever pw/username i use comes up as error in registration or crashes the prog

It finally connects after 5min to lots of users but then crashes. SAme with the original overnet
