Thread: Mp3 Conversion

1. #1
I was wondering if someone could lend a hand.

I would like to play some of the music I've downloaded, on the cd player in my truck. The problem is, my truck cd player is an older model and doesn't recognize mp3's. In order to play them on my antiquated POS player, I need to convert the mp3 to another format. I have a conversion program (dbPoweramp), but I'm not sure which format to use.
Does anyone know the format retail cd's are encoded with?

would .wav work?

I know it's a simple matter of covert, and test, but....the Scott in me refuses to waste a cdr on a incorrect guess

Thanx in advance

any burning program out there should automatically convert your .mp3's (or wav's) to .cda files (normal music cd files) if you choose the option to burn it as an Audio cd or whatever.

MusicMatch does it as well...

I purchased the "Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition and converted all my files to .wma instead of .mp3.

What is the advantage in doing this?

Wma's tend to be smaller than Mp3's.
