Watching and listening to them as I type.
The town across the bay (about 2.3 miles away, as the crow flies) is putting on a nice show just now.
I love fireworks.

This is weird, I was just going to post the same thread.
Growing up in St. Louis we had spectacular riverfront displays. My favorite fireworks were those spine-skaking concussion flashes.
The finale's were so overwhelming to the senses that when they were done, all you could was stand there and shiver.
Fireworks really bring out the kid in me!
Aren't we in the trust tree, thingey?
I concur 100%, Hobbes.Originally posted by hobbes@3 July 2004 - 22:40

It's the thunder as much as anything; same reason I like storms, although, according to the second poster in this thread, storms are probably politically incorrect, as they are just too noisy.
Maybe the ACLU could be importuned to file suit against Mother Nature, eh?

Fireworks...

They've died down now though.
Canada's day is over...
Dog is still shaking though, he's a wuss.
I have been to watch the fireworks at Fort McHenry, in Baltimore, Md., where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the lyrics to The Star-Spangled Banner while watching the Battle of Baltimore in 1814.
Quite a show, that one; one of the best I've ever seen.
